Description
I once paid $25 to get a bouquet of flowers every month for a year. Almost every time, the flowers were mostly daisies. So I painted daisies, more than once.
..............................
The original artwork is an oil painting, and the piece leans toward being impressionist. White daisies stand against a rich blue fabric background. The ethereal plants that I placed around the daisies appear to be baby's breath.
Yes, I painted it and I arranged the flowers, but that doesn't mean I know all the names. The flowers sit in a clay pot, which is deep yellow, and could also be called brown. The entire piece is hand-painted.
............................
When painting white objects, I do not start with pure white. I usually begin painting white flowers with a gray tone, either cool or warm. Then I add shadows and highlights. Even though this is a still life, I use diagonal lines and other techniques to give it extra life and add a hint of movement. One piece of the wispy baby's breath appears to be just falling from the vase.
..........................
I hope you enjoy my daisies and baby's breath with rich blue fabric. Contact me if you have any questions about this or any of my art.
