There is a certain time of the evening when the sunset shines on downtown Shreveport in a glowing, beautiful way. In 2004, I painted an abstract version of the cityscape. This is a reproduction of that painting.

Shreveport, originally known as Shreve's Town, was founded by Captain Henry Miller Shreve. Shreve is known for the clearing of the Red River Raft, a 150 to 200-mile long matting of logs and other plant matter. The Raft had been there longer than anyone could remember, probably hundreds of years. It was said that a man could ride a horse over the raft in some places without getting wet.
