This painting is based on the Beckov Castle in Slovakia. It features a limestone cliff, on which is perched a medieval keep, in ruins. I love rocks and stones, and find castles fascinating. The original artwork is hand painted. Below is information I obtained at Wikipedia; it is not copied word for word.
.........................
Beckov Castle is a castle in ruins. It stands near the village of Beckov in western Slovakia, on a cliff near the Vah River. This castle once served as the home of Stibor of Stiborics, a Polish Lord who controlled much of what was then Northern Hungary. This man had 31 castles. He gave Beckov a lot of attention, renovating it in a Gothic style. He brought in artists from miles around to make this castle a spectacular place. He built a chapel here, which contained works of art, such as sculpture and paintings.
..........................
His son, Stibor Stiboric of Beckov inherited the castle in 1414. He in turn passed it to daughter Katarina....
Explore rough, rocky landscapes and old, crumbling buildings, made of rocks, stone, stucco, and wood. There are paintings of Louisiana and the southwest states of Texas, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. You'll also find fanciful works of imagination. These are the paintings of Lenora De Lude. "When I look at the beauty and majesty of creation, I know I can never duplicate the work of the ultimate Master, God Himself. But He has put a creative spark into me, and so I create. Come and see my creations. Pick up a few prints and cards. More will be added soon, and then more after that."
