A wildfire courses across the Colorado landscape. These mindless monsters are devastating to people and wildlife. Colorado and surrounding southwestern states are beautiful places to be, but they command a lot of respect. One careless action can cause a fast moving blaze that could forever change lives, and even cost lives. .....In this acrylic painting, yellow-orange fire reaches skyward, sending off shoots of flame. The smoky sky is purple, gray, and blue. The surrounding landscape is barren and spent. I believe that we artists need to bring attention not only to the happy, light-hearted things of this world; we also need to record the sad occurrances.
