Description
Old Bottles seem to last forever, yet the leaves, only a few months old, are already dying. This idea came to me one fall as I walked through dry leaves. Beautiful in death, they began to still ideas in my mind. The phrase, "the old and the new," coursed through my mind.

As young as those leaves are, they have lived a lifetime. The bottles? They were here before I arrived, and may just may be here when I am gone.

This hand painted artwork is a still life--an oil painting. Main colors are blue, golden yellow, and brown--and clear! Of course, the clarity is an illusion, created with sparse paint over the background. The blue, ornamental bottle is an Avon Perfume container. It has played a part in several of my paintings.
