Description

A rose red flower with an interesting yellow and brownish center blooms largely, partially covering an orange-like rust-colored, stone-like border. Throughout the painting are leaves and foliage in various shades of green. There are hints of flower petals in the form of shapes in different shades of red. Much of the design is diagonal, which lends the piece a look of movement, even in a floral artwork.

The reproductions look great when blown to a size larger than the native 14x11 inches of the original oil painting. This piece is a mixture of realism and abstraction, mostly realism. As with many hand painted works, standing close to the piece will give you an effect that is almost abstract over all at the larger sizes. Step back, and it all comes together, to a recognizeable artwork.
