Description
I once paid $25 to get a bouquet of flowers every month for a year. Almost every time, the flowers were mostly daisies. So I painted daisies, more than once.
..............................
The original artwork is a still life oil painting, and the piece leans toward being impressionist. White daisies stand against a deep purple background. Each daisy boasts a yellow center. The flowers sit in a translucent pot, which is a brown tone that shadows into black, and could also be called brown. The entire piece is hand-painted.
............................
When painting white objects, I do not start with pure white. I usually begin painting white flowers with a gray tone, either cool or warm. Then I add shadows and highlights. Even though this is a still life, I use diagonal lines and other techniques to give it extra life and add a hint of movement.
.......................................
I did not use a photograph for this art. I set up the bouquet, and messed it up. The flowers I get from the shop are too perfect; I have to change them and make them more interesting. I hope you enjoy my white and yellow daisies in a deep purple background.
