The original artwork is a still life oil painting, and the piece leans toward being impressionist. White daisies stand against a deep purple background. Each daisy boasts a yellow center. The flowers sit in a translucent pot, which is a brown tone that shadows into black, and could also be called brown. The entire piece is hand-painted.

When painting white objects, I do not start with pure white. I usually begin painting white flowers with a gray tone, either cool or warm. Then I add shadows and highlights. Even though this is a still life, I use diagonal lines and other techniques to give it extra life and add a hint of movement.
