Title
Surreal Art with Walls and Columns
Artist
Lenora De Lude
Medium
Painting - Acrylic
Description
The inspiration for this artwork was the painting, "Perspective," by Canaletto (1697 - 1768). My work is an acrylic painting and incorporates other elements, which might technically make it a mixed media piece. However, it does not have the look of mixed media, and consists of paint more than anything else. The other elements are pen and ink, watercolor pencil, paint chips, sand within the ground and tissue under the paint, in the yellow part of the door facing.

The art leans toward being surreal, with abstract shadow people, or figures, in the background. There are three stone columns on the left, which give the look of perspective On the right are two walls directly facing the viewer. Oh, and there is a deep blue sky above. The colors are blue, green, yellow, and brown. This hand painted piece is hard to describe, but you can probably see it.

Producing a hand painted work of art is a rewarding and sometimes frustrating endeavor. There is no delete button to undo mistakes. If I make what I consider a mistake, I have to change paint, hurriedly wipe off paint, or perform one of myriad other real world activities to get the art to say what I want it to say. It is worth all the trouble for the privilege of working with the brushes, the canvas, and that magical, beautiful, paint.
