Description
This quiet tree-lined walkway is based on the landscape at a university in Shreveport, Louisiana. It is a peaceful walk, and a handy way to get away from the every-day noise. Beyond the canopy of sheltering trees stands one of the classroom buildings. .... Shreveport boasts many such placid landscapes within the city, whether on college grounds, in parks, or in the stately neighborhoods of the Highland area. The city was founded in 1836 By the Shreve Town Company, named for Captain Henry Miller Shreve. He was responsible for the clearing of the intriguing Red River raft, a polite name for a 180-mile long pile of debris that had clogged the Red River for longer than anyone knew.
