Description
This watercolor landscape features a make believe castle in the background. There are red flowers throughout the middle ground, and some in the foreground. A path leads to--or from--the castle. On this path walks a purple-clad old woman, who uses a walking cane. The ground is painted in various shades of green. In the The nearest item is a tree. Looking more closely, you can see a profile.

The castle is large and gray, and there is a purple cloth streaming from one of the windows. This artwork is fantasy art, owing mainly to the tree face. Once you see the face on the tree, the whole piece takes on more of an air of fanstasy. In the larger sizes, this piece works well in larger rooms, so that you can get the interesting effect of standing close and viewing parts of it almost as an abstract. Then, step back and it all comes together into a work that fits more into the realm of realism.

There is something about castles that fascinates me. Part of it is that I love stone and rocks. Another thing is that it reminds me of the days of old, of medieval times. I am drawn to such things; however, I would not trade modern conveniences to live in those times.
