Artist's Description
This print is from a hand painted oil painting. The art is painted in a somewhat impressionist style. Red flowers and babies' breath sit in a ornate golden vase. The background is painted in a diagonal manner, which gives movement to the still life. The colors are red, gold, yellow, brown, tan, white, and green. The model for the vase was a decorative candle holder, into which I put the flowers.

Much of the work of creating a still life occurs before the brush is lifted. First, I decide where the setup will be, paying attention to the light source and often using large objects to channel or block some of the light. I usually arrange the flowers into several different positions, finally settling on one arrangement. Sometimes I draw the objects or florals with a pen or pencil before painting. Other times, I just head straight for the paint brush.

"When I look at the beauty and majesty of creation, I know I can never duplicate the work of the ultimate Master, God Himself. But He has put a creative spark into me, and so I create. Come and see my creations. Pick up a few prints and cards. More will be added soon, and then more after that."
