Artist's Description
These old huts once stood at Port Hudson near Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This was about 1863. The old, faded original photo can be found on the Library of Congress website. I like preserving the memories of these old buildings that are no longer standing. Because this photo is in the public domain, I can freely capture the essence of that long ago time. Well, I can try to capture it.
The original painting is on stretched canvas, 16x20. It is available, unframed, for $500.
About Lenora De Lude
Explore rough, rocky landscapes and old, crumbling buildings, made of rocks, stone, stucco, and wood. There are paintings of Louisiana and the southwest states of Texas, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. You'll also find fanciful works of imagination. These are the paintings of Lenora De Lude. "When I look at the beauty and majesty of creation, I know I can never duplicate the work of the ultimate Master, God Himself. But He has put a creative spark into me, and so I create. Come and see my creations. Pick up a few prints and cards. More will be added soon, and then more after that."
